ohh boy
So there is really only one week left, which is both scary and fantastic. There is still soooo much for us to do before this thing can be even close to done. I am doing as much as I can to help, but Hillary is doing all of the editing and Chris is doing the graphics, so that doesn't leave that much for the rest of us to take care of. I'm working on scripts for the voiceover, but without seeing more stuff edited together, I can't really finalize anything. Jess and I are doing a shoot this week with the contestants to introduce them at the beginning, but with everyones busy schedules, finding a time that we can all get together is proving pretty difficult. But even with the to do list being this long, I am still pretty confident that everything is going to come together and that the end result is going to be okay (but probably not spectacular).

Block 2
I keep forgetting to update this thing.
Anyway, we have had our third shoot yesterday at Glenwood Pines. I think it went pretty well. There are parts that I think could have been done better, but some people in my group didn't agree, so we didn't do again. But I definitely think that everything in the kitchen and the interview with the owner went a lot better than in the past. He actually let us into the kitchen and film the making of the burgers, and then we did the interview after, when in the past we tried to do both at the same time.
I am starting to get nervous about how this project is going. I think it is going to be an okay show, but nothing spectacular. And i really hoped that by senior year i could make something that is better than mediocre. I just think that a lot of our shots are average, as well as most of our content. Hopefully we can edit it together in a way that is creative, but I'm really starting to doubt the outcome.
I am also getting nervous about how little time is left in the semester, and how much we have left to do. I know that we can finish it, but it is going to be one of those circumstances where we are going to be doing SOOO much of it at the end. Especially if we are shooting at one more restaurant, which hopefully we are, we are just running out of time, especially with Thanksgiving break coming up so soon.

Filming and such
We have filmed (hopefully) all of our exterior b-roll and have had our first 2 shoots. Yesterday we went to Purity and did the 12 scoop ice cream challenge. I was pretty skeptical about what we were doing and filming while we were there, and i thought that this project was never going. Afterwards though, the group talked about everything and how we could edit it all together, and that made me feel much better about what we had done, even though I know this is going to be the weakest part of the project.
Today we went to Rogan's, where I thought things went a better. We had more people there to help us, which is always great, but I also think us after the first day, we went in with a better understanding of what we were going to need and how we were going to get it. We had some trouble with the boom, so I am a little nervous about the audio, but lavs and camera mics as back-ups, so hopefully it turned out okay.
I definietly think our weakness right now, with both of our shoots, is lighting. I think for the next two, we can hopefully find someone who can help us with that.
We have had one setback so far with Crespella closing, so we are trying to figure something out for the breakfast challenge. We had discussed Waffle Frolic, but I spoke with one of owners the other day and she said they usually charge for filming time, as well as charging us for the food, so I think we need to find someplace else, and really need to get going on that.

Moving Along
We have contacted all of the restaurants we want to use in our food challenges and have filming dates for three of the four restaurants. We have our host and just need to work our all of the dates with him, and I believe that we have 3 contestants, we just need to double check their schedules to make sure the can do the dates we have chosen. One of the dates we are supposed to film is this Thursday so we really need to start finalizing everything for that date. we still need to figure out what we are actually going to shoot, where everything is going to be set up, who we need to be there, and what equipment we are going use. So basically, we still have a lot to do. But I am pretty confident that everything is going to work and will be successful.

First Meetings
I think that our group and project are all moving along really smoothly. We created a group right after the first class of the semester, and had come up with an idea for our project by our first meeting. Even though the idea has changed since then, i think that we have a pretty solid plan and have been making a lot of process. We have a host and have a meeting scheduled to talk with people about being challengers and part of the crew. We also have meetings scheduled this week with 2 restaurants we want to use, Rogan's and Crispella, and have calls out to the others.
